Location Kirgistan

Kirgistan is located in the arid subtropical climate zone (similar to Tadschikistan). Thus the climate is influenced heavily by its continentality, i.e. (very) cold winters followed by very hot summers. This is the main reason for desertification in these areas and thus it falls perfectly in line with our other projects.

In collaboration with the NGO “Aufwind” we planted hundreds of fruit trees to the south of the desert “Mujunkum”, respectively in the north of Kirgistan. The trees are an old apple species which delivers an additional mean of income for local poor families.

Location of the village. Several families were included in the planting of the trees.
