Location Tadschikistan

Tadschikistan is located in the arid subtropical climate zone, thus very cold winter and very hot summer occur in this continental region. These extremes also are drivers of desertification in the area.

Together with the NGO “Umedvor” we planted hundreds of trees in the Pamir, near the city of Khorog. Most of the seedlings are Juniperus semiglobosa, which is the Himalayan Pencil Juniper. This species in endemic to the region and its survival therefore even more important for the biodiversity
